Tomb Suites - Luigi's Mansion 3 Guide - IGN (2024)

This portion of the Luigi's Mansion 3 guide contains the Tomb Suites Walkthrough featuring every Tomb Suites gem location and puzzle solution. Plus tips and tricks on how to beat the pharaoh boss.

Each room in the pyramid will have its own puzzle to solve, causing the sand to build-up until it's high enough for you to exit the area entirely. At the top of the pyramid, the ghost that knocked you down in the first place will be waiting for you.

Below are the walkthrough sections and objectives. Please note we may have added a few objectives ourselves to indicate the steps you need to take to complete the main objective.

Floor 10 Potential Glitch: Some players are reporting a glitch where the boss moves out of bounds where it can no longer be interacted with. If this happens to you reload the save. You may have to reload multiple times. The odds of encountering this glitch are unknown.

Tomb Suites Gems

You can get all the Tomb Suites Gems on your first visit. All gem locations will be written in a blue box so scroll through for them to see what you're missing or scroll past them if you'd rather discover the answer to those puzzles yourself.

Avoid the pressure plate!

Watch out for the arrows that shoot out if you step on the slightly elevated panel in front of the elevator. Head to the right.

Tomb Suites Gem #2

Pull the ball and chain to release the gem. Use Gooigi or Luigi to vacuum the gem out of its mouth and defeat the bats.

Go to the right and you'll see a statue of a snake sticking out the wall. Move or break the vase next to it (i.e the one on the right of the statue, closest to the player). Vacuum up the rope with Luigi. Vacuum the brass ball at the end of the rope and pull it to open the snake's mouth: revealing a gem. Gooigi/Luigi will need to vacuum the gem out of the snake's mouth though. Go through the door with the snake on it.

Get inside the pyramid

Suck up all of the sand in front of the door with a snake. This will take you to a sand-filled room with a pyramid in the center.

Tomb Suites Gem #6

Walk to the right and vacuum the sand off of the snake. Clear off every part if it and you'll notice some pieces of it are missing. Use your dark light to reveal all of the snake. Once you do so, the snake will open its mouth and reveal another gem.

Tomb Suites Gem #5

Head to the left and vacuum the sand. The exact location is tricky but in front of you, a bit in the distance, should be a vent of sand pouring out and to your left should be a vent of sand pouring out. If you were to draw a straight line from both of those vents and mark that with an X, the area with the gem is a little bit before that X. When you see the piles of bones, you're super close!Get inside the pyramid by walking up to the door and interacting with the statue on the left.

Walk up to the sarcophagus and interact with it. This will drop you into a pit of sand.

Looking for his mummy.

Escape the Sand Pit Chamber Puzzle Solution

Vacuum ALL of the sand (watch out for the snakes which can be killed with your vacuum or with your Strobulb (flashlight).

Once all the sand is gone, you can walk up to the statue on the left and interact with it. This will create a new opening but it's too high for Luigi to reach!

Once you vacuum out the sand, interact with this statue on the left. It will dump more sand into the room, which will need to be pushed to the exit.

More sand will fall into the room. Let it pile up for a bit and then blow it (ZL) towards the new opening. Repeat this until you create a little path for yourself through the opening.

Up ahead, there are statue tossing out arrows. Luigi can't handle it but you can use Gooigi to walk through them and pull and hold the rope. While Gooigi is doing that, Luigi can climb up the ladder.

How to kill the mummy

Up above, you'll be attacked by a mummy. The mummy is actually just a ghost wearing mummy wrappings. You can capture it but getting the mummy ghost to fall. You can do this with the Burst move or by using suction shot to pull and slam another object into the mummy.

Knock mummy ghosts down with a burst move and vacuum off their bandages to capture them.

When the mummy is on the ground, walk up to it and suck up the rope with the vacuum. This will reveal the ghost which you can catch like you normally would: stun it with the Strobulb and vacuum it up.

Tomb Suites Gem #1

Suction shot this sarcophagus until the gem ghost appears and capture it.

Go to the right of the room (near the front i.e towards the camera/player). Notice the circle on the sarcophagus. Shoot it with your suction shot and pull.You'll notice these are basically sarcophagus style nesting dolls, with each one smaller than the last. Keep breaking them with a suction shot and a ghost with a gem inside will appear. Capture that ghost to get the gem.

Go to the room on the right, into the snake chamber.

Snake Chamber Laser Puzzle Solution

Push the sand using the vacuum (ZL) to create a path to the statue in the back, right corner. Then activate the statue.

Lasers will come out of all the statues. Push the sand so you can reach them and then walk up next to it use the burst move. You will have to do this for all the statues shooting lasers before all the chains are broken. A ghost will appear that you need to capture. After that, push the sand to reach the statue in the back right corner and then interact with it.

When the lasers appear, push the sand to them to climb up and use a burt move to deactivate them.

Scale Chamber Puzzle Solution

The weight on the scale should match the weight of the animal displayed in the circle. The animals are ordered from lightest to heaviest in the pictures above that circle. When you feel like you have the correct weight flash the blinking light using your Strobulb. A pointer will appear and land on an animal accordingly. Notice if you have too much or too little on your scale based on where the pointer lands. If the weight is incorrect a piece of pottery will land on you and do 1 damage.

Tomb Suites Gem #4

Drop Gooigi down this grate, after revealing it with the dark light, to get the gem.

Go to the left and have Gooigi drop down the grate below. There, he'll find a treasure chest to the right with a gem inside it.

The 1st is an alligator. You can get the correct weight by putting down 2 large golden figures and one vase (you can slowly drag it using the suction shot. Just don't slam it)

Do not break the vases. The alligator puzzle requires one. Scoot it to the pressure plate, with a suction shot, and let go of it to get it there without slamming it.

After getting the first one, you'll need to move quickly with the next few because a spiked ceiling is coming down on you.

The 2nd is a scorpion (to the left of the lion). The correct weight is a large gold figure and a vase.

The 3rd is an elephant. The correct weight is all 4 golden figures (no vases or anything else).

Use all four golden weights on the pressure plate to solve the elephant puzzle.

Once that's taken care of interact with the statue in front of you. Fight the ghosts that appear. Once the room is cleared, head back to the Central Chamber.

There will be several ghosts you'll need to defeat there, including the mummy ghosts from earlier. Watch out for the boulders with Boo's face on it rolling around. Once that's done, continue to the door ahead, behind the huge pile of sand.

Poison Jewel Room Shape Puzzle Solution

Vacuum the green orb and shoot it into the circle ahead to open the door.

Up ahead, you'll have to do the same thing but the stakes are higher because the room is filled with poisonous gas. Vacuum up the sand to reveal the shapes hiding. Then shoot the shapes into the correct slot on the wall. Ex. the yellow prism goes into the yellow triangle slot. The red cube does into the red square. Note: one of the shapes is inside the treasure chest in the sand on the left.

Vacuum around the room to find the shaped gems and shoot them into the spaces on the wall. Your health will go down every few seconds. Check chests and break vases to find them all.

Once all the shapes are in, the poison will disappear and a statue will be revealed. Interact with it.

Tomb Suites Gem #3
There's a pot to the left of the center statue with another piece, a plus sign. Note: it's possible this pot got broken while you were solving the main puzzle so vacuum around the room if you're having trouble finding it. Once you find the plus sign, take it back back through the doorway you came from: just before entering the poison room. Pause and look at the wall on the upper left. Shoot the plus sign shape into the plus sign slot. This will move the wall and reveal a sarcophagus. To the left of that sarcophagus is a gem.

Fight the ghosts and exit

Return to the center chamber and it will be filling up with sand. Capture the ghosts who ambush you and head to the back left through the door.

Flash the ghosts to ghost slam them.

Run up 2 flights of stairs so the walls don't smash you to death. Watch out for the spiders on the second flight, get rid of them with a flash of the Strobulb.

Burn the web

You'll end up at the top of the stairs in a tiny room with a spider web blocking your path. Break the pot in the right corner and it will reveal a torch. Vacuum the torch and light it with the existing fire. Then walk the torch over to the web.

Use the torch to burn the web so you can access the boss chamber.

Drop the torch and interact with the newly revealed wall. At last, you're back at the top and ready to take on the Pharoah Boss.

Spooky!

Your goal is to remove all the sand from the boss so that the actual ghost is vulnerable and open to being attacked. The Pharaoh Ghost Boss has a few attacks but they're all just distractions from the task at hand. Keep in mind you'll want to move quickly because the boss will pick up sand as it moves around.

Make sure you're close enough that the sand is actually coming off. The boss will unleash snakes that will slam down onto the ground to try and hit you. If they fail, they'll become dizzy and you can vacuum them. But remember, you do not need to vacuum the snakes to beat the boss.

Blow or vacuum away the pharaoh's sand face to expose her. Once exposed, flash her with the strobulb and ghost slam her.

The boss will also move around the play area and pop up out of the sand. Sometimes when it emerges from the sand and earthquake ring will follow it. Jump over this ring with the burst move.

When you vacuum the sand throne the boss is lurking inside of first it will lose its face, then it will become very thin, finally the sand throne will be gone leaving nothing but the ghost itself.

At this point, the ghost will be surrounded by a circle of snakes that form a sort of shield. Wait for those snakes to cock their heads back and then unleash your Burst move to counter their attack. With no other protection left, stun the ghost with the Strobulb and vacuum/slam it.

Repeat this 2 more times and the boss will be captured.

Get the button.
